In the last few years the Berlin neuroscience community has been highly successful in creating new research projects. Not the least of these is the cluster of excellence, NeuroCure, which has brought nine new professors and their research groups to Berlin.
Along with the increasing levels of research, a number of new neuroscience training programs have recently been established. In 2002 the International Graduate Program Medical Neurosciences was the only structured Master’s and PhD program: as of 2009 Berlin hosts four neuroscience schools and several DFG funded research training groups.
